Poster Art
Typically,  posters are mass-produced, they may also be printed by hand or in limited editions. Most posters are printed on one side and left blank on the other, the better for affixing to a wall or other surface.

Posters are designed to be both eye-catching and convey information. Posters may be used for many purposes, and they are a frequent tool of advertisers of concerts, shows, events, movies sports and sporting events. Posters are also used for reproductions of artworks particularly famous works. Another type of poster are educational posters, which may be about a particular subject for educational purposes. Related to these are academic or conference are generally low-cost compared to original artwork. Many people also collect posters, and some famous posters have themselves become quite valuable, collectors and vintage posters are usually framed and matted. The most conventional size for graphical posters tends to be around 24 by 36 inches (910 mm), though posters may be nearly any size. Much smaller printed advertisements are typically known as handbills.

Framing your poster is pretty much like any other framing project. Often people think that since they may not have paid much for a poster that the framing cost should also be "not too much". It must be noted that the value of the art does not diminish the cost of the time and materials that it takes to do the work professionally.

Posters framed like an art piece often look great and don't even look like posters when framed this way. Often posters are printed with gallery or show advertising at the bottom or around the image. Some people like to see this for reasons of their own like remembering visiting the gallery. Others are more interested in the actual image. Both interest are fine, it's your art now isn't it? Frame it the way you like it! It is not uncommom to simply dry mount a poster (heat seal it to foamboard) and frame it with a metal frame. This works great in many instances.
